A dark-stained board-and-batten ranch compound set on a working vineyard in Sonoma, with young vines running right up to the house and oak-dotted hills rising behind. Charcoal exterior, standing-seam metal roofs, and a deep covered veranda with X-braced timber railings run the length of the building, opening onto lavender and clipped-boxwood planting.
Inside it reads as high-end modern farmhouse: white shiplap and vertical board walls, vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, wide dark plank floors, and steel-framed sliding doors that open the living rooms onto the vineyard. The kitchen is the centrepiece - a long island with rush-seat stools, oversized black pendant shades, and a glass-front dresser of displayed china, flowing into an open dining and sitting area. Two sitting rooms, one anchored by a stone-surround wood stove, are hung with framed landscape and marine paintings throughout.
The bedrooms are done in two registers: pale, light-filled rooms with canopy beds and vineyard-facing doors, and darker panelled guest rooms in warm brown with brass chandeliers, striped bedding, and en-suite baths. Bathrooms range from soft papered powder rooms with marble tops to a deeper terracotta and black tile scheme. Outdoor living is substantial — covered loggia seating, a formal dining table set for ten, and multiple porch groupings positioned for the hills and the evening light.
